Deterministic Stdio Multiplexing for Subprocess Agents

Long-running autonomous coding agents require strict, observable execution loops. Allocating TCP network sockets for local process orchestrations introduces socket exhaustion and rogue port listening risks.

Protocol Boundaries

  1. Single File Descriptor Duplex: All requests, responses, and notifications stream over standard I/O pipes.
  2. Line-Delimited Framing: Zero multi-line string fragmentation; each RPC frame terminates on a strict \n boundary.
  3. Fail-Closed Pipe Collapse: When the parent supervisor terminates, child standard input collapses immediately, halting rogue agent loops.

By binding agent subshells directly to anonymous OS pipes, execution harnesses preserve strict containment without daemon overhead.
