Linking physical books and component hardware back to digital knowledge repositories requires permanent, unambiguous identifier bindings. The Bosun Press pipeline bridges the digital graph to physical print runs through deterministic Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) and GS1 DataMatrix generation.

Algorithmic SKU Construction

SKUs are synthesized deterministically from the vault namespace, realm code, and cryptographic content hash:

Each generated SKU maps to an exact physical manifest stored in the digital garden stock.

High-Density 2D Matrix Encoding

Rather than relying on fragile linear barcodes, Press embeds two-dimensional GS1 DataMatrix symbols directly onto colophon pages and technical broadsides:

The DataMatrix code includes Reed-Solomon error correction, permitting full decryption even if 30% of the printed mark suffers abrasion or ink flaking.
