Exporting standard RGB PDFs from web rendering engines produces muddy conversions, oversaturated ink limits, and registration blurring when sent to four-color offset presses. Press pipelines enforce PDF/X-1a compliance directly in headless CI environments, guaranteeing CMYK process color separation and font embedding.

Headless Ghostscript Pre-Press Normalization

Incoming vector and typography plates pass through a deterministic Ghostscript normalization filter that converts all color models into CMYK targets while embedding every glyph:

Total Ink Limit Verification

Offset presses smear if total ink coverage (Cyan + Magenta + Yellow + Black) exceeds 300%. The Press pre-flight auditor scans rasterized plates to flag ink density violations before plate exposure:
