The Bosun Logbook provides a high-performance CLI utility written in Rust that achieves sub-5ms append latency.

Zero-Allocation Buffer Formatting

The CLI avoids parsing the existing daily file. It resolves today’s target path using local calendar arithmetic, formats the entry into a fixed stack buffer, and performs a single syscall:

The entire execution chain requires zero heap allocations in the hot path.
